The Hard Truths Regarding the Good News of the Kingdom of God

Billy Graham, an American evangelist and ordained Southern Baptist minister simplified what it means to be a Christian. He started with the famous verse from the Gospel of John:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:16)

From there, Billy would teach the non-believer the fundamental Christian doctrines of sin, repentance, faith, resurrection, servitude, obedience, discipleship, and prayer culminating in a call to the non-Christian to share in prayer, which if prayed in honest sincerity assured eternal life in Heaven. This prayer is often referred to as "The Salvation Prayer"

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
